The Timaru Home and Lifestyle Show, is now under the new management of respected local event organisers, Special Events Aoraki Ltd.
The friendly and efficient team behind the show have a real understanding of what works to promote the show to attract prospective buyers and drive the right audience to the show and to your stand.
For three days, you will have a captive market looking for the best in home and lifestyle solutions for their current and future needs.
The 2019 show includes a fresh new layout and a strong focus on innovation, inspiration, healthy homes and sustainable living.
NEW FEATURE: The Green Living Zone
For 2019 we introduce The Green Living Zone. A special area of the show set aside for products and services that promote sustainability and sustainable lifestyles.
A Sustainable and Zero Waste Event
At this year’s Show, we aim to achieve up to 90 percent of our mission to remove single-use plastic bags, plastic packaging, water bottles, straws, plastic plates, cups and cutlery from the event.
Vendors are advised to use recyclable or biodegradable packaging and all vendors will be monitored on-site.
You won’t need to give out plastic bags, because we’ll be supplying all show visitors with a durable, biodegradable show bag that has plenty of room to hold the Show Visitor Buyer Guide along with other important literature, samples and product purchases.
Friday Night Exhibitor Function - Drinks & Nibbles
Exhibitor evening function – held on Friday evening after our first day of the show. A chance to chill-out, enjoy a quiet drink and nibbles on us, meet our team and get up-to-date information and advice to assist you to make the most out of your 2019 Home Show.
Your stand comes with 2.3m high exhibit quality black, velcro receptive wall panelling, grey carpet, and single-phase power in a 4 way-multi-box. The stands are supplied by Peek Exhibition.
Do you need to order additional power or spotlights?
Complete details on the booking. Spot lights and additional power costs are not covered by the stand fee. Additional fees apply.
Do you need to hang items from the roof/ceiling?
All rigging, including banner hanging is to be done by the Venue Operations Team. To arrange Banner Hanging or if you have special rigging requirements, please advise the organisers – email email@example.com or phone 03 6885531.
Do you need to hire extra display equipment for your stand?
You can order additional display equipment, tables, chairs, table cloths, other furniture, non-standard panels, non-standard carpet etc, for your stand.

Are all your electrical equipment and leads safe?
One of the most lethal hazards in a trade show setting is the risk of electric shock from electrical or lighting equipment.
All electrical equipment for commercial or public use such as appliances, leads, plugs, multi power boxes etc must be tested and show current Portable Appliance Test (PAT) tags as verification that they meet the AS/NZS 3760:2010 standard.
We recommend any equipment for personal use, such as your laptop or phone charger is also tagged and tested.
Ensure that all appliance leads are protected from crushing in a way that also minimises the risk of people tripping over it. We encourage all exhibitors to carry out a pre-use safety inspection/check before you use any electrical equipment.
Have you arranged insurance?
Your exhibition fee does not cover any insurance. All Exhibitors are advised to take out all appropriate and necessary insurance cover for your display or stock on your stand, including transit insurance. You must hold your own Public Liability Insurance with a minimum cover value of NZ$1 million and if requested by the Organiser produce a copy of the Public Liability Insurance policy or certificate. If you have insurance queries, please contact your insurance representative.
Exhibitor Chill-Out Zone
A chill-Out zone for exhibitors with coffee & tea available for you during the day. There is also a cafe on site plus a coffee cart.
The Southern Trust Events Centre is locked up and alarmed when no-one is present. There are internal and external security cameras.
Parking for Exhibitors
Please park in car designated parking areas to the South and West of the Southern Trust Events Centre building, leaving the parks closest to the building for Home Show customers and do not park in areas designated for Disabled Parking or Event Vehicles.
There is a range of accommodation in and around Timaru, but it is limited so book early. For a list of accommodation providers, we suggest you visit sites such as Trivago or booking.com.
You will be provided with exhibitor badges to be worn during the duration of the show. The badges will be available at the front desk on set up day. 2 badges per stand but additional badges are available on request.
Free Client Tickets
We can create a free E ticket invitation that you can send to your clients for complimentary entry to the show. If you would like to do this, we will need a pdf file of your logo/brand. We will email this free client ticket for you to distribute to your clients.
Major Show Prize
We hope to offer several show prizes that all show visitors will be eligible to win with a major prize of a $20,000 home improvement package of products and services from various vendors, able to be delivered in South Canterbury. We are looking for individual vendors to sponsor the various products and services that make up the prize. There will be a range of benefits to prize sponsors including additional pre and post event media coverage, entrant database, category exclusivity and social media activities.

Pre-Show Radio Promotion with The Breeze Timaru
We’re running a fantastic promotion in the last three weeks lead up to the Home Show. Get your business, one or more of your products and your site number on air for free. This very effective promotion costs you nothing other than a sponsored prize.
It works like this. You sponsor a product/s or service/s. As radio partner, The Breeze, will run daily phone-ins where listeners can win a sponsored prize. Your business, the prize and your site number are promoted on the radio. The winner gets a voucher identifying your business, the prize and your site number. The winner must visit your stand at the Show to collect their prize.

The Timaru Home & Lifestyle Show Guide
We’re serious about getting your business in front of 1,000’s of South Canterbury Home Owners and giving them every encouragement to visit the Show.
The Show Guide is a striking magazine with high quality editorial features and eye-catching images to ensure homeowners will retain the magazine for reference and use it on a continual basis for planning home improvements and lifestyle changes.
As well as the Show details (programme, floor plan, categorised listing of each exhibitor), the Guide will include advertising for each exhibitor.

We will get your brand in front of all South Canterbury home owners.
The Show Guide will be delivered free into every household in South Canterbury - all towns (including Timaru, Geraldine, Waimate, Temuka, Pleasant Point, Fairlie, Tekapo and Twizel), plus all Rural Delivery addresses (not PO Boxes) with the Timaru Courier on Thursday 5th September. We have a targeted campaign to make sure our audience know that it is coming.
In addition to every household, the Guide be delivered in bulk to hospitality outlets, libraries, motels, and tourism attractions, into neighbouring townships e.g. Kurow, Omarama, Hinds etc and further bulk deliveries will be made to all exhibitors in particular those exhibitors with retail outlets.
Your exhibitor fee includes a full colour one quarter (1/4) page advertisement. No extra cost for this, you just need to supply the advertisement.

At the conclusion of the event, any consignments that are to be picked up by freight companies must be labelled and collected before 5pm on Monday 2nd March. Please also put name of freight company so they can identify it quickly.
Important info for Pack out
It is essential for safety of public and respect to other exhibitors that you do not pack up until 4pm. It is important to be well organised & swift for the Sunday night breakdown as the electricians and Peek Exhibition will be on site first thing on Monday morning to break down the walls & electrics. If required additional break down time on Monday 16th September until 11am at the absolute latest.
